Today’s car donation spotlight features a 2007 Honda Odyssey that was donated to Special Olympics. The Honda Odyssey has been apart of the donor’s family since 2007. After 17 years, they decided to donate the car to Special Olympics, an organization very close to the families’ heart.
Making a Difference
The donor shares the story of their vehicle over the years and why they decided to donate to this organization:
Jason the red Honda van has been part of our family since 2007. Our boys were much smaller then, and grew up with this awesome vehicle. Jason has lugged tons of equipment and transported many a teammate for Special Olympics and other sports teams. He’s been our ride to countless ski and camping trips, as well as regular commutes to work and school. We’ve taken good care of Jason, who has never left us stranded, and had very few issues even at age 17. We no longer need a car this big. Special Olympics is the natural cause to support as Jason finds his new home. I’m a coach, a unified partner, and a board chair. One of our boys is an athlete leader, and the other is a coach and unified partner. Their mom does health research in cooperation with Special Olympics. I get to see up close how this organization changes lives, and I’m glad to support the cause.
