Suzuki Boulevard S40 Donated to Feed the Children

You probably know that Car Donation Wizard is the place to go if you want to donate your car to charity, but did you know that we also accept motorcycles, boats, RVs, and even airplanes? Today’s vehicle spotlight looks at a speedy Suzuki donated to Feed the Children.

This blue beauty is a 2006 Suzuki Boulevard S40. This model was marketed as the Suzuki Savage from 1986-2004, and there are no major cosmetic differences between the models.

The single-cylinder, four-stroke “thumper” engine is one of the largest displacement single cylinder engines in production today. The bike clocks in at a dainty 352 pounds dry, about 50 pounds below the average weight for a motorcycle.

Although this bike is over 10 years old, the donation rolled in with under 15,000 miles! This cleanly designed, easy-riding bike has a long future ahead of it! The former owner knew they could trust Car Donation Wizard to help them donate this bike to their favorite charity.

Feed the Children

feed the children

Feed the Children is a nonprofit that actively combats childhood hunger and malnutrition. They provide food for children in need and work to change the conditions that cause kids to go hungry.

Every donation to Feed the Children makes a difference. They provide meals to over 263,000 children every single day. Not only fo they fight hunger today, but they work hard to prevent hunger tomorrow.

The key is education. Feed the Children provides children in need with backpacks full of school supplies, and snacks to keep kids focused. Since 2006, they have given over 1,000,000 backpacks to young students. Also, they provide free classroom supplies to teachers in underfunded areas, which helps another 525,000 students annually.

We have previously written about car donations to Feed the Children, but you can also donate your motorcycle, boat, or RV!

It’s so easy to support Feed the Children. Visit our website to get started on your vehicle donation, or give us a call at 888-317-1212 to donate your motorcycle, car, boat or RV!

Importance of World Water Day to Car Donation Wizard

World Water Day (#worldwaterday) occurs on March 22nd annually and holds a lot of importance to us at Car Donation Wizard.  Sponsored by the United Nations, this day is “about focusing attention on the importance of water.”  This day is of particular importance to Car Donation Wizard because all of our employees live and work next to the ocean, in the city by the sea, Newport, Rhode Island.  We see firsthand why everyone needs to take responsibility in taking care of this amazing part of nature.

Global Struggle for Clean Water

It is not just about having a beautiful ocean, lake or river to live by, work in and enjoy.  Today over 2 billion people live without safe drinking water at home.  That is almost 30% of the world’s population that has their health, education and livelihood directly affected by this global water crisis.  There are issues directly related to demand, availability, quality and environmental impacts.

Car Donation Wizard: Connecting Donors to Charities

June 25, 2015
Guest Blogger: Amanda Nevitt

At Car Donation Wizard we bring donors and charities together. Every year we receive thousands of car donations from individuals who want to help their favorite cause. We are experts at helping donors make a big impact by turning their donated cars into cash.

In addition to individual cars, trucks and motorcycles, we receive a fair share of “fleet” vehicles, which is a group of motor vehicles owned by a business rather than an individual. We’ve received shuttle vans for hotels, to big box trucks from corporations. They are an important part of our business and make a big difference for the benefiting charity.

Companies on average keep their fleet vehicles for about five years; most are at the end of their life and not worth much on trade in. What’s a sensible way to extend the life of those vehicles? Donate them! Not only does the donating company receive a tax deduction, but it’s a great way to help build houses, find cures for diseases, protect animals, empower veterans, keep children healthy & safe…(insert your favorite cause here).

Spotlight on our Partner: Feed the Children

It has been a great joy of Car Donation Wizard to be partnered with Feed the Children. Founded in 1979, Feed The Children has been an international hunger and relief organization that delivers food, medicine and other necessities to children and their families who lack these essentials due to poverty, war, famine and natural and man-made disaster. Feed The Children is consistently ranked as one of the 10 largest international charities in the U.S., based on private, non-government support. In FY 2009, Feed The Children distributed more than 111 million pounds of food and other essentials to children and their families in all 50 states and internationally.Car Donation to Feed the Children saves lives

Around the world, Feed The Children responds to disasters wherever they strike, providing emergency supplies to children and their families. Feed The Children has sent thousands of tents to aid the survivors of the May 2008 earthquake that decimated parts of China, leaving millions homeless. They were also able to deliver an unprecedented 13.8 million pounds of rice, a gift of the government of Taiwan, for starving children in African nations recently affected by famine, drought, and violent conflict. Feed the Children is always poised to respond in emergency situations, but we need your help now to be able to act immediately when disaster strikes.
