1961 Jaguar Mark IX Donated to American Cancer Society

Just recently we had a beautiful 1961 Jaguar Mark IX donate to American Cancer Society.  This classic Jaguar came to us from a generous donor in Laguna Beach, California.  You can see from the picture that this car lived a privileged life in sunny southern California.  With just over 27,000 miles, this car was kept in great running shape and was even treated to a new engine back in the early 1990’s.  Due to the donor taking great care of this car it has held its value over the last 56 years.  We expect it to earn quite a nice car donation for the American Cancer Society.

1977 MG MGB Donated to Michigan Public Radio

This is not the first MG we have received as a donation but it is one of the better models we have seen.  It is the fourth MG donated so far this year and also the oldest aside of a 1952 though that was a kit car and not an original.  This green roadster only has 3,505 miles which is incredible for a 1977.  We do not know much about this MG’s previous life but the donor is from Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Presumably, the car spent most of it’s time there cruising with the top down catching the breeze off Lake Michigan.

The ’77 MG has been donated to Michigan Radio, a part of the NPR news network.  Unfortunately, University of Michigan basketball suffered a tough loss last night in the NCAA tournament.  Hopefully seeing a donation like this one will help ease the pain.

While looking back at this past year we have had many great cars and stories come our way, and we just want to share a few of our favorite posts and vehicles with you.

Drumroll Please…

  • Canine Companions for Independence.

Canine Companions for Independence was founded in 1975. They are a non-profit that provides highly trained and vetted assistance dogs to people that have disabilities. Their headquarters is in Santa Rosa, CA but they work nationwide. They have six locations/regions

  • Earth Day 2016 Dirty Sock Challenge.

We did this challenge because our vehicles have an impact on the environment. In America, one of our biggest air pollutants are from our vehicles. Typically between 80-90% of a vehicles impact on the environment is from the fuel it consumes and the emissions it puts out. Automobiles cause air pollution and greenhouse gases that have an impact on global warming, and our health.

  • ARS & Habitat for Humanity Visit the Dominican Republic.

During the build, the team had very minimal tools, but they made the most of it. Their tools included: shovels, three wheelbarrows (that soon turned into two), a cement mixer, a smoother and a broom for cleanup. Their transportation consisted of two vans, one of which broke down and they had to squeeze into the other van (what a sight to see).

3 Reasons to Donate a Car Before the End of the Year

Vehicle donations make a real difference to worthy causes.

Why Donate on Giving Tuesday

Regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, I think we can all agree that this election season was rough.  Now more than ever, we need people who will strengthen communities, fill our world with compassion, and bring hope to the hopeless.  I’m so fortunate to work every day with people just like that.  People whose full-time job is feeding the hungry, finding cures for cancer, building homes for the homeless, and filling our world with beautiful art and music.   Continue reading
