Now that we’ve looked at the car brands with the highest volume of donations this year lets dive in and see the most common car donations in 2017 by model. As you can imagine the most frequently donated cars to charity are the same cars that you likely see the most on the road every day. By accepting not only cars but also trucks, motorcycles, boats, RV’s and commercial vehicles we saw a wide variety of car donations in 2017.
2017 has been a record year for the number of different car brands donated to charity! In total, over 250 different brands of cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, scooters, RV’s, commercial vehicles and even one snow cat donated to hundreds of different charities through Car Donation Wizard.
However, more than half of these car donations come from just 10 different car brands. These are makes that we see on the road each and every day. When you donate a car it makes a lasting difference to the charity you choose and cause they support. Here are the top 10 car makes we processed for charities in 2017.
Giving Tuesday (#givingtuesday on social media), donate your car to make a difference this charitable season.
It is that time of year again where we hear bells ringing outside of our local grocery stores and shopping centers. The holiday season brings out a spirit in us that makes us want to help out the community and others in need. There are plenty of ways one can contribute to their charity of choice. This Giving Tuesday, we’d like you to take a minute to consider donating a car as a great way to support your favorite charity. Much to our pleasure, Car Donation Wizard receives almost double the amount of donations from Thanksgiving to Christmas than it does in an average month. This rise in car donations coincides with a movement called “Giving Tuesday”.
International Day of the Girl is raising awareness for the struggles of girls around the world. As the car donation partner of UNICEF we support the campaign and join in raising awareness for the millions of girls around the world who deal with challenges before, during and after crises.
Just recently we had a beautiful 1961 Jaguar Mark IX donate to American Cancer Society. This classic Jaguar came to us from a generous donor in Laguna Beach, California. You can see from the picture that this car lived a privileged life in sunny southern California. With just over 27,000 miles, this car was kept in great running shape and was even treated to a new engine back in the early 1990’s. Due to the donor taking great care of this car it has held its value over the last 56 years. We expect it to earn quite a nice car donation for the American Cancer Society.
