Our 2007 Purple Pilot’s last journey was this past weekend. She had been making a few new noises over the past two weeks, and we planned to take her in after the move, but she had other plans. Fully aware of not wanting to leave me in an unsafe situation, she got me safely to a stop light next to a gas station and started to shake and shimmy. With a final gust, she pulled into the gas station parking lot and breathed her last breath. Serendipitously, we were listing to the Fall Pledge Drive on our NPR station, WABE. Hence, we are honored to be able to donate our Purple Pilot to WABE, and we hope where ever she ends up will love her as much as we do. #goodbyeoldfriend #drivingpublicradio
