Step 1: Pick Your Station and Provide Information
Choose the public radio station you’d like to support and complete the donation form online or by calling us at (877) 215-0227. We will ask you a few questions about your vehicle, including the VIN, year, make, model, mileage, and condition.
Step 2: Schedule Free Car Pick Up
Tell us a bit about yourself and where your car will be picked up. You’ll be contacted by a local towing agent within 2-3 business days to schedule a pick up time that works best for you.
Step 3: Get Tax Receipt
Once you submit your car donation through the Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program, you’ll receive a confirmation email with access to your Donor Console. Within the Donor Console, you’ll be able to track the progress of your car donation, upload documents, and get tax and title information. After your car is sold, you’ll be emailed a tax receipt.

We always thought big mamma (very adequate nickname given by my wife) was unbreakable, until it got hit by a truck! Both of my children came back home from the hospital in this car. I loved it, it got the job done while never complaining. It travelled far too. We miss you, and there is no better way to honor you than donating you to NPR!
Thank you for supporting WAMU.

We tried to sell our family minivan to a national car-buying company. But when they sent someone to pick it up, they said they were only going to pay us half of what they had originally agreed to.
I felt like I was being swindled, so I canceled the deal. Then I remembered NPR and CPR! I’ve always wanted to donate to public radio, especially in these times of federal cuts to journalism.
Now, instead of feeling yucky about saying goodbye to our long-time van, I feel great.
Along with the countless roadtrips, it’s giving one last gift to our family and community!
It’s as if the Giving Tree were a car.
