“It’s a holiday for all of those who have pets. If you are a pet owner, be proud and celebrate yourself on this day!”

Are you looking for charities that benefit animals in need? Do you have a used car, truck, van, or other vehicle that you’re considering donating to an exceptional cause? Consider donating a car to benefit animals nationwide. We have several charities that support animals. You can support an animal charity, rescue, prevent cruelty, and help more homeless pets get the care and attention they need to find a good home. On this day, we would like to share one of our associate’s personal adoption stories and spotlight our charity partners that support animals.

Here at Advanced Remarketing Services (ARS), we are a pet-friendly group! On our community board you will find our Potter League Wish List (ways to give to our local animal shelter) and our Weekly Dog Day –“it’s a great way to spread positivity and energize the office”!

Personal Story

HondaHonda, was found running amok on the side of a road in the high-country of Tennessee by a shelter worker who drove by everyday. The worker stopped to ask the owner if she could have dogs. He said for a fee, but not the mom – she was a “money breeder.” The pups were too young to leave their mom so she called SAVEALAB. SAVEALAB offered $400 for the pups and mom. He declined, another $200 was offered, and he accepted. The mom, Sandy, had an embedded collar with over 225 ticks and infested with fleas. She also had an embedded stick in her mouth and was only 47 lbs – she needed to be at least 65lbs. The family was transported to my kitchen, where we loved and nurtured them for 8 weeks. My husband wanted a motorcycle, I wanted a puppy..we named him Honda!

Our little girl, Lizzie, was named after her mom. The owner brought the mother into the shelter with 5 puppies in tow and a pup stuck in the birth canal. After the vet pulled out the dead lodged pup, there were 5 more born – a total of 11. The mom was so sick and malnourished that she passed away 4 weeks later. The passing sent SAVEALAB’s rescue world into a horrific state of sadness. Of the remaining 10 pups, 5 pups passed and 5 pups survived at the foster care in Georgia. My husband and I were lucky enough to get the runt, and we named after her mom, Lizzie. She has flourished and is loved by hundreds. We adore her!

Your car donation to the North Shore Animal League helps ensure that even more animal lives are saved from euthanasia. North Shore’s hands-on work over the past decade has saved 20,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens each year. The average cost of almost $1,250 is what it takes to rescue, nurture and ready a pet for adoption — vehicle donations from generous supporters like you are critical to continuing their life saving efforts. Every car donation will go towards rescuing and helping orphaned pets move into loving homes.

Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue’s mission is to care for and shelter homeless cats and kittens until we can find them a permanent, loving home. The organization has grown into a limited-intake, free-roaming shelter with space for 125 cats. RMFR does not contract with local governing bodies and receives no government funding. Instead, the rescue relies on individual donations, events, and grant fundraising efforts to support operation expenses.  In 2017, RMFR was able to provide medical expenses, housing, food, exams, in-house surgeries, and medical treatment for over 1,600 cats and kittens!
