October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! All over the world, this month is spent raising awareness, educating, and increasing research. After skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer type in women in America. Every woman has a 13% chance of developing breast cancer during her lifetime. Currently, there are more than 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. There are many causes that you can join to help end breast cancer.

The American Cancer Society is a charity organization dedicated to fighting cancer. They have spent the last 30 years hosting the nation’s largest and most impactful breast cancer movement. This event is called Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC). Over the last three decades, supporters have participated in 3-5 mile noncompetitive walks for breast cancer awareness. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks take place nationwide, in over 150 communities. In fact, our team participates every year! The American Cancer Society empowers courageous breast cancer survivors and metastatic breast cancer thrivers, including caregivers, and families through MSABC.
