Take a look at this month’s vehicle donation shout-out, a 2004 Honda Pilot. This vehicle was generously donated to the American Cancer Society through the Cars for a Cure Vehicle Donation Program. Donating your car to ACS rather than just selling it will help properly support the many individuals and families affected by cancer. Your donation will help fund lifesaving cancer research, education, advocacy, and free patient service programs.
The donor graciously shared his story about his first family car and the great memories they shared together:
Our Honda Pilot has been more than just a vehicle, it’s been a part of our family’s story. It was our very first family car, and it carried some of our most important passengers: our children. We brought both of our babies home from the hospital in this Pilot, tiny bundles in car seats that seemed far too big at the time.
As our family grew, so did the memories made within those four doors. The Pilot became our adventure wagon, packed to the brim with beach gear and snacks for the long drives to Disney World and Myrtle Beach. It’s where countless sing-alongs, snack breaks, and “are we there yet?” moments unfolded.
And in a touching full-circle moment, this same Honda Pilot was the vehicle we used to drop our oldest off at college, a bittersweet reminder of how much life had unfolded since those first rides home from the hospital.
This car has witnessed every chapter of our family’s journey from the early days of parenthood to the proud beginnings of independence. We hope that as it finds a new purpose through this donation, it continues to bring good things to others, just as it did for us.
