This month’s car donation features a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta that was donated to WITF through the Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program. Car Talk works with local public radio stations across the nation. They ensure that each station gets the most from the proceeds of your donation. This enables your favorite programs to continue fostering thoughtful discussion, trustworthy information, and engaging entertainment. Your car donation helps keep your favorite public radio programming on air.
This donor shares their experience with their beloved vehicle and why they chose to donate to NPR:
I bought my 1999 VW Jetta in May of ‘99. At the time, I asked my boyfriend on our third date to help me with his opinion regarding this car which I really liked. He did so and verified that this Jetta drove impressively after driving it on the highway. I traded in my Oldsmobile to purchase this Jetta. He ironically just traded in an older Jetta to buy an Oldsmobile. I guess I made the right choice on the car and my boyfriend. The car is still going after 26 years and has 187,000 miles on it. My boyfriend is also still going and is now my husband for 25 years.
We both loved listening to Car Talk every Saturday on WITF over the years it was broadcasted and thought donating this car (I’m keeping the husband) in Click and Clack’s name to NPR would be a fitting tribute to all the laughs we had from this great show.
The proceeds from this vehicle donation will allow WITF to continue creating content for its loyal listeners!
Does your car have a special story? We’d love to share it on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Email us your donor story and photos!
