Rosemary’s 2013 Volvo XC90 Donated to Habitat for Humanity
In 1993, I established a student chapter of HfH at my college, Edinboro University. My inspiration came from a service work project in Appalachia and a desire to build a competitive application for a Peace corps teaching assignment in Africa.
Shelley’s 2012 Mazda CX-9 Donated to Special Olympics
We knew we wanted to donate our car to charity and saw Special Olympics pop up as an option. We have a son with a rare genetic mutation, so charities that support people with complex needs are near and dear to our heart.
George’s 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle Donated to Habitat for Humanity
My wife and I were married in 1968, between semesters in our senior year at Gettysburg college. Students didn’t have much money and, to buy a used car to get us to New Hampshire where I was to start graduate school, we had to borrow $500 from my father-in-law. What we got was a 1954 Rambler Nash American. The best thing you could say about it was that it ran. Six months later, I got my draft notice.
Peggy’s 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Donated to ALS Association
This car belonged to my husband who died in 2023 from an extremely fast decline of ALS only 4 weeks after diagnosis. For me this is the best way I can contribute to finding a cure.
Ki’s 2001 Toyota Avalon Donated to American Cancer Society
Ki has asked that his car be donated to the American Cancer Society as he has recently gone under his second bone marrow transplant in 7 years. He is 32 years old and hopes this donation can further the cause of both research and helping others with cancer.
Scott’s 2016 Ford Focus Donated to Special Olympics
After 10 years with our Ford Focus it finally hit the point where a needed repair exceeded the value of the car. Rather than having it go to the wrecking yard we decided to make it a donation.
Ryan’s 2005 Toyota Prius Donated to Habitat for Humanity
I’ve had this car from age 19 to 27. It got me from home to college, witnessed two breakups, carried me across the country, and helped my new girlfriend learn to drive. We slept in the back on trips. It’s silver but it has blue trim because my dad and I replaced old broken pieces by pulling them off of other cars at a junkyard. I was always love this car.
Alan’s 2005 Chevrolet Classic Donated to American Liver Foundation
I am pleased to be able to say this is the second car that I donated to ALF (and I’ve only had 2 cars since 1989) My mom, Joyce Willig, was a liver transplant success story and enjoyed 30 extra years.
Pamela’s 2011 Nissan Leaf Donated to The Endowment Project Foundation
We are so happy to know that, after serving our family so well, Sparky will help The Endowment Project Foundation in its forward-looking mission to build generational wealth for public schools.
Joanne’s 1999 Honda CR-V Donated to Habitat for Humanity
My 1999 Honda CRV was my first car, and I bought it from a friend after I graduated from college. Thirteen years later, I decided to buy a newer car, and I wanted my CRV to go towards a good cause. I chose to make a donation to Habitat for Humanity in honor of President Jimmy Carter, who passed away last month.
