Frequently Asked Questions

How do I donate my car in NH?

Donating a car in New Hampshire is a quick and easy way to support your favorite NPR station. Simply fill out the donation form, schedule a car pick up time, and receive a tax receipt.

What types of vehicles can be donated?

NHPR gratefully accepts almost all car donations. We also accept donated trucks, motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, heavy machinery, trailers and RVs on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions about a vehicle you’d like to donate, call us at 877-215-0227.

What paperwork is needed to complete my car donation?

Most car donations require a clear title. If you can’t find your title, you can apply for a duplicate title online. When you donate your car to NHPR, you’ll sign your New Hampshire title over to Advanced Remarketing Services. You will print and sign your name as the seller. If you have questions about filling out your title, call us at 877-215-0227.

How much of the money from the sale of my vehicle is returned to New Hampshire Public Radio?

Donating a car or other vehicle to charity can be a confusing decision. Many charity car donation programs promise to help the charities but are run by third-party processors that return very little to the charity. Our partners at Car Donation Wizard return at least 70% of the gross selling price for car donations back to NHPR, the highest of any vehicle donation program!

What is the tax write off for donating a car?

The amount you can claim on your taxes is equal to the selling price of the car. If your car sold for over $500, you can claim the full selling price when itemizing taxes. If it sold for less than $500, you can claim the fair market value up to $499. Please consult with your tax advisor on the best way to claim your NHPR car donation tax deduction.
