Rebecca’s 2006 Chrysler Town & Country Donated to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation

Multiple Sclerosis Foundation Car Donation Review

“The MS Foundation gave us 500 hours of caregiving, which got us through until we could figure out a more long term solution. I have never forgotten their help…I am happy to be able to give back in even a small way like this.”

My late husband had Secondary Progressive MS. Our second wheelchair van was on its last legs and we had to go get a replacement. We drove all the way from Belmont, CA to Sacramento (an hour and a bit) to get a replacement. This was the very first vehicle I purchased myself! I had never owned any car or van. I used my inheritance from my grandmother to buy it outright. It was a beautiful van! “Infinity Red!” Had all the bells and whistles we needed to drive my husband in his wheelchair to his appointments.

I purchased the van in 2015. He passed in 2021. The reason I chose the MS Foundation to donate to, is because they helped us when we desperately needed assistance. My husband had Secondary Progressive MS. Its not pretty, it takes you down hard. In fact, his neurologist said he had the worst case he had ever seen. It wasn’t long before he couldn’t be left alone and needed a caregiver to help him with things during the day.

I worked full time, and we only had part-time funded hours from the state. The MS Foundation gave us 500 hours of caregiving, which got us through until we could figure out a more long term solution. I have never forgotten their help. I don’t know how we would have gotten through that time without them. I am happy to be able to give back in even a small way like this.

Thank You, Rebecca!

Oli’s 2010 Honda Insight Donated to March of Dimes

This was my first ever car that I got while in college. I planned to buy a cheap, used car with my savings but my mom surprised me by chipping in a bunch to help me get a new car. I named her Eustace and she carried me the 6+ hours to and from college for every vacation. She witnessed first love, graduation, and moved to the big city with me. She was tough, facing blazing summers, snow plows burying her for days, and alternate side parking. She drove my fiancee and I to our first house and then our wedding. She came and went to the NICU dozens of times until our beautiful baby was ready to come home months later. I was so nervous driving with our baby in the back seat for the first time, but Eustace was as steady and reliable as ever. She’s retired from our family now, but can hopefully still do some good for others.
