Henry's 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Donated to American Cancer Society in Westport, CT
Jul 11, 2026
Cancer, like a river, flows through my family. Grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins have been affected and some won their battles others, like my parents, were not so fortunate. The Jeep that I am donating I have had for 26 years, many people equate me with this vehicle and it is to me special. For the past 20 years it has been kept running by a very gifted mechanic, Tom Conte, who lived and breathed everything about cars. Last summer, Tom told me it was finally time to retire the jeep as the rust damage, which I equate as a cancer of cars, had made the car unsafe to drive. In September of last year, Tom lost his battle with cancer. So I am donating this car in his memory and the memory of those family members that I have lost over the years to this terrible group of diseases.
Thank you for supporting American Cancer Society.
