I’m so happy to be able to donate my precious Mera/Jeep to help support your mission. I couldn’t think of a better place for it to go.
This Jeep was actually my very first car, a gift from my father when my parents moved out to Long Island. Since I live in Brooklyn, they wanted me to have an easy way to visit, and this Jeep made that possible. I named her Mera after the Aquaman character because of her gorgeous Teal color, so unique! Over the past seven years, it’s carried me on so many small but meaningful journeys?frequent trips upstate to our family’s cabin in Monticello, visits to see relatives in New Jersey and Connecticut, and countless rides around the neighborhood.
Mera has been part of so many memories. I took my dog on adventures in it, and I’ll always cherish that it was the car I first drove my baby in. I always used to joke that the Jeep had a personality of its own, and while I’m sad to see it go, I feel lucky to have shared so many chapters of my life with it.
I chose to donate to North Shore Animal League America because I absolutely love animals and deeply respect the work you do. In fact, I believe I’ve even worked with some of your patients through my job at Water4Dogs. I know firsthand how much you care, and I’m proud that this donation will support your lifesaving efforts.

This was my first ever car that I got while in college. I planned to buy a cheap, used car with my savings but my mom surprised me by chipping in a bunch to help me get a new car. I named her Eustace and she carried me the 6+ hours to and from college for every vacation. She witnessed first love, graduation, and moved to the big city with me. She was tough, facing blazing summers, snow plows burying her for days, and alternate side parking. She drove my fiancee and I to our first house and then our wedding. She came and went to the NICU dozens of times until our beautiful baby was ready to come home months later. I was so nervous driving with our baby in the back seat for the first time, but Eustace was as steady and reliable as ever. She’s retired from our family now, but can hopefully still do some good for others.
