Directly benefit your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate!

Cars for Homes™ distributes the funds raised from the sale of your car donation directly to your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate to help build homes. Auction-quality vehicles (late-model, running and in good condition) generate significantly more funds than salvaged or recycled car donations. Cars for Homes™ program costs are kept as low as possible, and donated vehicles are sold through a national network of diverse venues to optimize revenues for local Habitat for Humanity affiliates.


Receive possible tax benefits for your generosity!

Habitat for Humanity International is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. If you itemize deductions on your income tax return, it may be possible to claim a deduction for donating your car. In general, donors who itemize their taxes may deduct the fair market value of any donated vehicle up to $499. If your vehicle sells for more than $500, you may deduct the full selling price. You will receive the appropriate receipt from Habitat for Humanity for your car donation. If you have more car donation tax questions, see IRS Publication 4303, “A Donor’s Guide to Vehicle Donations,” at the IRS Web site and consult with your own tax adviser.
