Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program Car Donation Review
“I just love this car and am thrilled to donate it to NPR. I’ll miss it so much!“
I got my little car new in 2005 and it has been a loyal, reliable, and fun ride ever since. It’s old enough to get its own driver’s license! At the beginning it took me faithfully back and forth from Philly to Boston for school. I knocked the antenna off when I was trying to clear snow off the roof, but for years that was I just love this car and am thrilled to donate it to NPR. I’ll miss it so much!the only repair it ever needed. When I moved to California in 2019, it came with me and passed every smog check. During the pandemic, it ran out of battery repeatedly in my garage, only to become absolutely essential again when we went back to the office and I wasn’t comfortable on public transit yet. Even now, with the check engine light a permanent feature, it’s still a cute car and a fun drive.
Thank You, Elizabeth!

This was my first ever car that I got while in college. I planned to buy a cheap, used car with my savings but my mom surprised me by chipping in a bunch to help me get a new car. I named her Eustace and she carried me the 6+ hours to and from college for every vacation. She witnessed first love, graduation, and moved to the big city with me. She was tough, facing blazing summers, snow plows burying her for days, and alternate side parking. She drove my fiancee and I to our first house and then our wedding. She came and went to the NICU dozens of times until our beautiful baby was ready to come home months later. I was so nervous driving with our baby in the back seat for the first time, but Eustace was as steady and reliable as ever. She’s retired from our family now, but can hopefully still do some good for others.
