The Audrain Automobile Museum‘s collection of over 350 cars and motorcycles displays three or four exhibits each year, to entertain all generations and stylistic preferences. A primary goal of the Audrain has always been to acquire and preserve automobiles with historical significance to Newport, Rhode Island and Southern New England. How to Donate Your Car to the
Adrain Automobile Museum

Step 1:  Provide Vehicle Information

Complete the donation form online or by calling us at 877-957-2277. We’ll ask some questions about your vehicle, including the VIN, year, make, model, mileage, and condition.

Step 2:  Schedule Free Car Pick Up

Tell us a bit about yourself and where your car will be picked up. You’ll be contacted by a local towing agent within 2-3 business days to schedule a pick up time that works best for you.

Step 3:  Get Tax Receipt

Once you submit your Audrain Auto Museum car donation, you’ll receive a confirmation email with access to your Donor Console. Within the Donor Console, you’ll be able to track the progress of your car donation, upload documents, and get tax and title information. After your car is sold, you will be emailed a tax receipt.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of vehicle donations are accepted?

The Audrain accepts almost all running and non-running cars. Other vehicles such as vans, motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats, RVs, trailers, planes, and heavy machinery are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Not all vehicle donations are featured in the museum. How long will it take to pick up my car?

Once you submit the donation form, a local towing agent will call you within 2-3 business days to schedule a pick up time that works best for you. 

How do I sign my title?

Instructions on how to sign your title over to our processing agent, Advanced Remarketing Services, can be found in the confirmation email you received after submitting the donation form. You can also find state-specific title instructions by clicking here or by calling us at 877-957-2277.

Will my car be featured in the museum?

Most car donations will be sold to licensed buyers or at auction, with at least 80% of the gross proceeds returned to the Audrain. If your Audrain car donation is of historical significance, it could be displayed in the museum.

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Yes! Within 30 days of the sale of your car, you’ll be emailed a tax receipt. If your car sells for over $500, you may deduct the full selling price of the car when itemizing taxes. If your car sells for less than $500, you can deduct $499 or your car’s fair market value, whichever is less. Please consult with your tax advisor on the best way to claim your car donation tax deduction.
