City Year’s Mission
City Year believes that all students can succeed and that developing the skills and talents of young people contributes to strong, vibrant communities – outcomes that benefit all of us.
City Year recruits 17-25 year olds to serve as AmeriCorps members in schools that need extra hands the most, around the country. City Year members serve as student success coaches, tutors, mentors, and role models who support student holistic growth, well-being, and learning. Every year, students served by City Year have an increased sense of connection to school—and we see math and reading scores go up.
At the same time, the 17-25 year olds serving as Student Success Coaches gain valuable leadership skills that help them on their career and life paths. Skills like communication, group problem-solving, and connecting across lines of difference mean that City Year coaches graduate ready to make a difference–no matter where their career takes them.

Step 1: Provide Vehicle Information
Complete the donation form online or by calling us at 877-957-2277. We’ll ask you some questions about your vehicle, including the VIN, year, make, model, mileage, and condition.
Step 2: Schedule Free Car Pick Up
Tell us about yourself and where your car will be picked up. You’ll be contacted by a local towing agent within 2-3 business days to schedule a pick up time that works best for you.
Step 3: Get Tax Receipt
Once you submit your car donation, you’ll receive a confirmation email with access to your Donor Console – you’ll be able to track the progress of your car donation, upload documents, and get tax and title information. After your car is sold, you’ll be emailed a tax receipt.
