Car Talk Donation: Dodge Grand Caravan

Dodge Grand Caravan Donated to Car Talk

This 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan was donated to WSHU through the Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program. WSHU

WSHU is the NPR station operated by Sacred Heart University, located in Fairfield, Connecticut. The proceeds from the sale of the Dodge Grand Caravan will support programming such as “Morning Edition” and “Echoes”, as well as the public affairs and cultural programming that listeners love.

The donor of the Dodge Caravan shared her vehicle story with us, highlighting its reliability and loyalty.

I bought my van used, in Maysville, KY, on the first Saturday in May in 2012 — it was the day of the Kentucky Derby.  We had the van for 8 years, and it drove me many times from Kentucky, where I was serving a Presbyterian church, to Connecticut, where my family lives.  When I became a hospice chaplain, it often drove me 200 miles a day when I went around 12 counties to see patients.  It had almost 250,000 miles on it — and still drove — when I donated it to WSHU.  That van didn’t owe me anything.  I hope it contributed a good amount to your fine programming.
