ALS Association Car Donation Review

“Supporting the ALS Association is so important to my entire family because we want to see a cure and better treatment options in our lifetime.”

Unfortunately, ALS is not a stranger to my family. My great-grandmother, grandmother, and uncle have all passed from this horrible disease. When my grandmother, Pat Butler, was diagnosed around 2012, we realized it might be the familial form. Tests confirmed it was. My uncle, Kelly Butler, was diagnosed in 2021. He fought hard and successfully to bring more funding for ALS research and care to the state of Alabama. He passed away in November 2024, and while we miss him terribly, we are so proud of his fight. Supporting the ALS Association is so important to my entire family because we want to see a cure and better treatment options in our lifetime.

Thank You, Meaghan!

ALS is physically, emotionally, and financially devastating. It can strike anyone at any time and it is always fatal. The ALS Association is the world’s leading ALS organization. On the ground in local communities, we are providing support for people living with ALS and their loved ones while funding the most promising ALS research in the world. We are also leading local and national advocacy efforts to deliver more funding for ALS research and better policies for those impacted by the disease. Together, we are working toward a future without ALS.

Oli’s 2010 Honda Insight Donated to March of Dimes

This was my first ever car that I got while in college. I planned to buy a cheap, used car with my savings but my mom surprised me by chipping in a bunch to help me get a new car. I named her Eustace and she carried me the 6+ hours to and from college for every vacation. She witnessed first love, graduation, and moved to the big city with me. She was tough, facing blazing summers, snow plows burying her for days, and alternate side parking. She drove my fiancee and I to our first house and then our wedding. She came and went to the NICU dozens of times until our beautiful baby was ready to come home months later. I was so nervous driving with our baby in the back seat for the first time, but Eustace was as steady and reliable as ever. She’s retired from our family now, but can hopefully still do some good for others.
