Habitat for Humanity Car Donation Review

“This is the story of Buddy & Alan’s Van, which they are donating to Habitat for Humanity in the hope that any value it may have after they managed to accumulate 185K miles on it, may help those in need.”

This is the story of Buddy & Alan’s Van, which they are donating to Habitat for Humanity in the hope that any value it may have after they managed to accumulate 185K miles on it, may help those in need.

Alan worked his business out of our home for 31years. For the past 9 years Buddy has been by his side and spent 6 of those years as his only other employee. They retired 3 years ago, and the van became the Dog and Home Depot errand vehicle. Buddy goes to the bank and pet store, where he is given treats and given lots of Hellos! Everyday, mid-morning they go for a neighborhood ride to check out the community. Sometimes Buddy gets bored and requests an additional ride, which is what was going on when this picture was taken, although Buddy was not allowed to drive since he only has a dog license.

A new vehicle was purchased, and Buddy and Alan are still getting used to it. They are waiting for the van to be picked up, and Buddy still looks longingly at his old van. Alan reminds him that they are doing a good thing for others in need.

Thank You, Alan, Beth, & Buddy!

This was my first ever car that I got while in college. I planned to buy a cheap, used car with my savings but my mom surprised me by chipping in a bunch to help me get a new car. I named her Eustace and she carried me the 6+ hours to and from college for every vacation. She witnessed first love, graduation, and moved to the big city with me. She was tough, facing blazing summers, snow plows burying her for days, and alternate side parking. She drove my fiancee and I to our first house and then our wedding. She came and went to the NICU dozens of times until our beautiful baby was ready to come home months later. I was so nervous driving with our baby in the back seat for the first time, but Eustace was as steady and reliable as ever. She’s retired from our family now, but can hopefully still do some good for others.
