Habitat for Humanity Car Donation Review

“I am sad to let go, but I am glad that Big Red can help Habitat.”

Big Red is 15 years old and has been a source of consistency, always reliable. When I took him into the dealership around the 150k mark, the guy said it was still a kid as these drive trains last forever! My kids learned to drive on it. Many family trips were made. Many loads of stuff taken to and from college and helping others move, as well. We put the running boards on as an after sale, it was a three beer job! My daughter took Big Red to college as it was the safer of our cars, but last week she graduated and Big Red has been showing his age, and we feel we got the best of Big Red, and it was time to put my daughter in a new vehicle that she needed for her job commute, so she now drives Baby Blue. Also, anytime we discussed his age, the next day the battery would be dead, a broken wiper, a back light out, etc., really, not kidding! So, I am sad to let go, but I am glad that Big Red can help Habitat. You have been a wonderful family member, but it is time for you to serve a different purpose. I hope someone buys you to keep you on the road for another 100,000 miles, you are worth it, big guy. Run free, Big Red!

The company you use to tow the car was prompt in setting up a time.  The tow guy was so helpful.  And then yesterday I realized I left my EZPASS in the car.  I called the company, they found it, and they are mailing it back to me today! You have a great website set up and co-partner.  Good Job!!

This donation was so easy, and I’m so glad you are working with such a good company to get the cash value back to you. Just wanted to let you know your car donation process is working and that Big Red is in good hands!

Thank You, Charlotte!

This was my first ever car that I got while in college. I planned to buy a cheap, used car with my savings but my mom surprised me by chipping in a bunch to help me get a new car. I named her Eustace and she carried me the 6+ hours to and from college for every vacation. She witnessed first love, graduation, and moved to the big city with me. She was tough, facing blazing summers, snow plows burying her for days, and alternate side parking. She drove my fiancee and I to our first house and then our wedding. She came and went to the NICU dozens of times until our beautiful baby was ready to come home months later. I was so nervous driving with our baby in the back seat for the first time, but Eustace was as steady and reliable as ever. She’s retired from our family now, but can hopefully still do some good for others.
