Our last donor story featured a 1991 Acura Integra that was donated to WSHU through the Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program. This week, we’re taking a look at a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser that was donated to Habitat for Humanity of Duchess County through the Cars for Homes program. The donor decided to donate her late mother’s car to Habitat for Humanity, as she firmly believed that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Read her story below!

2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser

My PT Cruiser was originally my mom’s-and when she was no longer able to drive, I drove her everywhere in it. I’m so grateful for those cherished memories, now that she’s no longer with us. My mom had a passion for helping people in the community, and she was excited when I started volunteering at Habitat. So it was a no-brainer to decide to donate her car as her last act of community service. I know she’d be proud of the chance to let this car serve others as well as it served our family.
