The donor of a 2003 BMW 5 Series shared her experience with the vehicle. After her fight against cancer and successful treatment, she decided to donate the BMW to American Cancer Society through the Cars for a Cure program.

2003 BMW 5 Series
I was in grad school, doing my practicum, and only working part time. The BMW was my dad’s dream car and he took great care of [it]. He called me up and gave me two options, I take the BMW or I take my mom’s car. I chose the BMW because he said it had better gas mileage. My dad drove the BMW 400 miles to me and then spent two days teaching me how to drive a manual. I was not confident but I did it and never looked back! This was never my dream car and I never wanted to learn to drive a manual but it has been the best and most fun driving that I have had. The BMW got me through the end of grad school, my first post grad school job, cancer treatment and a pandemic. I love this car and it made me truly appreciate what cars can do!
