Today’s car donation story is a heart-warming thank you to National Public Radio. The donor shared her vehicle story and photos with us, thanking NPR while showcasing just how sentimental this car is.

The funds from the sale of the 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier will benefit community programming at WHRO, the NPR station that serves the region of Hampton Roads, Virginia.

Thank you for allowing me to donate my car to public radio, NPR. I have owned this “tough” car for over twenty years. It has weathered many storms in my family, especially during the time my husband was hospitalized and dying from a spinal cord disease. We made many trips in this car to visit him. This car has carried us through many trials and tribulations and still runs with nearly 260,000 miles on its motor. My husband, Carey, did all that he could to keep this Chevrolet Cavalier running. I hope this Cavalier will.provide transportation to someone in need or used for the good of all. Thank you NPR for what you do in keeping the public informed with honesty and integrity. THANK YOU!!!
