This week’s Charity Spotlight is on a new charity partner, the Longmont Humane Society! The LHS’ open admission facility focuses on a beautiful mission. They care about “caring, serving and educating to improve the lives of companion animals.” Keep reading to find out what that looks like, and how you can help their mission.

The Longmont Humane Society

This organization, founded in 1972, serves the community by providing shelter and care to animals in need. Over 4,000 animals come through their doors each year, and they facilitate over 2,000 adoptions annually. The Humane Society cares for all of these animals by providing food, shelter, affection, and medical treatment.

In 2017, they took in 3,733 dogs, cats, and other animals. That includes strays, lost pets, and transfers from other shelters. Of those animals, 2,642 found permanent homes through adoption. Owners reunited with another 730 pets that found temporary shelter in LHS.

LHS supports the community as well through the work of their 80 staff members, including a canine behavioral team. There is an on-site pet clinic as well, that is committed to bringing quality and affordable veterinary service.

How to Donate a Car to the Longmont Humane Society
