Today, October 10, is World Mental Health Day. This day was created by the World Health Organization, to raise awareness about mental illness.

This year, the main focus is on “Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World.”

According to the WHO, half of all mental illness begins by the age of 14. The world is changing quickly, and the World Health Organization realizes that the way we view and treat mental illness needs to change, as well.

Stigma around mental health issues can prevent individuals from seeking treatment, or from sharing their feelings with those around them. One in five American adults experiences mental illness in their lifetime.

WHO wants to change the way we perceive, discuss, treat, and even prevent mental illness by focusing on the youth.NAMI

NAMI

We are proud to work with the National Alliance on Mental Illness(NAMI). They are a national organization that focuses on grassroots organization. Why? To ensure local voices of people living with mental illnesses are the focus.

When you donate your car to NAMI, the benefit will stay local, and therefore help uplift your own community.

In honor of World Mental Health Day, consider donating your vehicle to NAMI. We keep the process simple, and between 75-80% of the proceeds will go to support your local branch of NAMI.
