Charity Spotlight: March of Dimes

With all this talk about back to school, we decided to shine the spotlight on March of Dimes, the non-profit organization that is devoted to the well-being of  mothers and babies.

Car Donation Wizard is proud to work with an organization that “helps moms have full-term pregnancies and researches the problems that threaten the health of babies.” March of Dimes researches the causes of premature birth and birth defects and provides information to mothers and families on the dangers of these issues and how to avoid them. With local programs throughout the country, their resources are readily available to families nationwide.

Along with our partnership, March of Dimes teams up with retail stores to help spread awareness and to raise money to support their mission. This past Saturday, August 23, 2014, Macy’s had their 9th annual shop for a cause event. Customers could save 25% on their purchase with every $5 dollar donation. The event raised over $3.4 million dollars!

March of Dimes has also paired up with Kmart. In the thirty years they have worked together, over $125 million dollars has been raised. Shop Your Way members have given $11 million dollars to March of Dimes and March for Babies this year alone.

Programs and events like these reiterate the level of support that March of Dimes has, and the esteem at which this organization is held.

If you are looking to support March of Dimes, here is a list of some popular ways to give back:

1) Make a donation on the March of Dimes website.

2) Participate in March for Babies! This is an annual walk which takes place all over the country. You could start your own team or join an already existing one. You could even sponsor someone participating. There are endless possibilities.

3) Donate your vehicle to The Drive to Help Babies Survive. Donating any vehicle is fast, easy, and free. You can donate your car, boat, truck, van, motorcycle etc, whether it is running or not. Over 80% of it’s gross proceeds will go toward preventing premature birth and birth defects.
