Every day, we honor our commitment to Green Berets past and present, as well as their families, by connecting them with the right resources to prosper and thrive. Because when these soldiers meet powerful opportunities, our nation’s most elite soldiers become our nation’s best leaders.”

The Green Beret Foundation (GBF) provides U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers and their families with emergency, immediate, and ongoing support. When you donate a car to GBF, you are helping those who have served our country and their families get the support they need and deserve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which military charity should I donate my car to?

There are many car donation programs on the internet making heartfelt appeals for vehicles, but only a small number of these programs actually make a difference to the charity. The Green Beret Foundation offers complete transparency on where your car donation is going, who it’s helping, and how it’s going to get there.

How much of the money from the sale of my vehicle is returned to Green Beret Foundation?

Donating a car or other vehicle to charity can be a confusing decision. Many charity car donation programs promise to help the charities but are run by third-party processors that return very little to the charity. Our partners at Advanced Remarketing Services return 75-80% of the gross selling price for car donations back to Green Beret Foundation, the highest of any vehicle donation program.

What types of vehicles can I donate?

We gratefully accept almost all car and truck donations. We also accept donated motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, trailers and recreational vehicles on a case-by-case basis. You can donate your vehicle online or by calling us at 877-957-2277.

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Within 30 days of the sale of your vehicle, you will receive an email with a receipt that includes:

  • The gross selling price of your car, if sold for greater than $500. Per IRS requirements, if your vehicle sells for over $500, you’ll receive a 1098c form. If your car sells for $500 or less, you can deduct $500 or your car’s fair market value, whichever is less.
  • Vehicle year, make, model, and VIN.
  • A statement that the vehicle was sold at arms-length between two unrelated parties.
  • A statement that no good or services were received in return for your donation.
