How do I release the liability of my donated vehicle in Michigan (MI)?

• The state of Michigan DOES REQUIRE a Certificate of Title in order to transfer ownership of your vehicle.
• In order to complete your Michigan car donation, transfer your title by entering the name of our authorized agent, ADVANCED REMARKETING SERVICES in the buyer/purchaser field. Please PRINT and SIGN your name in the seller/owner field EXACTLY as it appears at the top of the title.
• Please keep your license plates.
• You MUST MAINTAIN proof of sale documents. Under Michigan law, a donor is not liable for any damages or violations that occur post-donation pick up if the donor has copies of all sale documents as proof of non-ownership.
• Remember to remove your electronic toll collection system from your vehicle as well as removing the vehicle from the account when the vehicle is picked up.
