This weekend thousands of Irish-Americans will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland and his feast day has become an international festival, celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods and a whole lot of green.
For some, it’s a chance to tuck into a steaming platter of corned beef and cabbage. For others, it’s a day for toasting all things Irish and a chance to celebrate Celtic culture, from The Book of Kells to “Lord of the Dance”.
